Effective Date: November 2, 2025 Governing Laws: The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act) as amended, including the rules thereunder.

This policy outlines our practices for collecting, storing, processing, and protecting digital personal data, in compliance with Indian laws.

This Privacy Policy applies to all services offered through our website, mobile application, and other digital platforms (collectively, the "Platform").

2. Applicable Indian Legal Framework

Our privacy practices are governed by the following principal Indian legislations:

  1. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act): This Act forms the primary legal basis for the processing of digital personal data. We adhere to the principles of lawful purpose, purpose limitation, data minimization, and the mandatory requirement for free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent.
  2. The Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act): Specifically, we comply with provisions regarding intermediaries and the protection of Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI).
  3. Data Collected and Lawful Purpose

We collect and process personal data and Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) strictly for the Lawful Purpose of providing matrimonial matchmaking services, profile verification, and communication.

A. Personal Data Collected

This includes information that identifies you as an individual:

  • Name, Address, Email ID, Mobile Number etc.
  • Date of Birth, Age, Gender, Location.
  • Educational Qualification and Employment Details.
  • Photographs and Profile Description.

B. Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI)

As a matrimonial service, we necessarily collect SPDI, which requires enhanced consent and protection under the IT Act and DPDP Act. By registering, you provide explicit, affirmative consent for the processing of the following SPDI:

  • Religious and Caste Information: (Required for community-specific matchmaking).
  • Physical, Physiological, and Mental Health Condition: (Often disclosed for profile completeness).
  • Biometric Information: (If used for optional profile verification).
  • Financial Information: (Payment details for subscription services, stored securely and never displayed).

4. Consent and Withdrawal (DPDP Act Compliance)

A. Requirement for Consent

We process your data only after obtaining your consent through a clear affirmative action (e.g., ticking an unchecked box stating "I agree to the Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of my data, including SPDI, for matrimonial purposes").

The notice for consent informs you:

  1. The specific Personal Data and SPDI to be processed.
  2. The purpose of processing (matrimonial service provision).
  3. The manner in which you may exercise your rights (Section 6, Section 7, and Section 8).

B. Right to Withdraw Consent

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, with the ease of withdrawal being comparable to the ease of giving consent.

  • Procedure for Withdrawal: You may withdraw your consent by sending an email to our Grievance Officer (contact details below) or by using the designated "Delete Account" function on the Platform.
  • Consequence of Withdrawal: Withdrawal of consent will result in the immediate cessation of data processing and may lead to the termination of the matrimonial services, as your data is necessary to provide the core service. Your profile and data will be erased unless retention is required for legal compliance or dispute resolution.

5. Usage and Disclosure of Data

A. Internal Usage (Lawful Purpose)

Your data is used solely for the following specified purposes:

  • Creating your matrimonial profile and making it searchable by other registered users.
  • Verifying your identity, age, and other claims (if verification services are used).
  • Communicating administrative, service, and membership-related notices.

B. Disclosure to Third Parties

We only share your data in limited, necessary circumstances:

  • With Matrimonial Matches: Your profile information (excluding financial details and contact numbers, which are only shared with your explicit permission) is shared with prospective matches as part of the core service.
  • With Service Providers: We may share data with third-party vendors (e.g., payment gateways, technical service providers) who are legally bound by confidentiality agreements and process data on our behalf for the stated lawful purpose.
  • Legal Compliance: When required by law, court order, or government authority, particularly in response to lawful requests concerning national security, public order, or investigation of offences.

6. Data Principal Rights (Your Rights under DPDP Act)

As a Data Principal, you have the following rights, and we provide mechanisms for you to exercise them:

Right to Correction and Erasure You may request the correction, completion, or updation of your Personal Data, and request the erasure of data that is no longer necessary for the specified purpose, provided no legal retention obligation exists.
Right to Grievance Redressal  You have the right to a readily available and effective means of grievance redressal, as detailed in Section 8.
Right to Nomination You have the right to nominate another individual who shall exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

7. Data Security and Breach Notification

A. Security Safeguards (Reasonable Security Practices)

We implement reasonable security practices and procedures (as required by the IT Act) and reasonable security safeguards (as required by the DPDP Act) to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or misuse.

  • We use industry-standard encryption protocols (SSL/TLS) for data transmission.
  • Physical and electronic security measures are in place to restrict access to the data to only authorized personnel.
  • We maintain comprehensive access logs and store the IP address and time-stamping details of profile creation and access for one year after account deactivation, as per the advisory for matrimonial websites.

B. Data Retention and Erasure

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws. Upon account deactivation or withdrawal of consent, your data will be erased, unless legally mandated otherwise.

C. Mandatory Data Breach Notification

In the event of any personal data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and the affected Data Principals (You) without delay, providing details about the nature of the breach, the measures taken, and recommended steps you can take to mitigate any potential harm.

8. Grievance Redressal Mechanism

In compliance with the IT Act and DPDP Act, we have appointed a dedicated Grievance Officer to address all complaints and concerns related to data processing and security.

The Grievance officer shall be available between 10 am to 6 pm IST from Monday to Saturday excluding Sunday's and Public Holidays in India.

Resolution Timeline        We aim to acknowledge receipt of all legitimate grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 30 days from the date of receipt.
